The Long Flights Home

We were sad to say good-bye to Hamada, our guide this morning. We left very early at 1:30 and were at the airport by 2:30 and on our way to Frankfurt as scheduled.

The security check at the Frankfurt Airport was definitely the most thorough I have seen. They had us open all of our bags and many people were wanded/patted down. They even wanded the bottom of my feet! So that line was long and in fact they held our plane for 80 people who came in from a flight from India and were still going through security when we were ready to take off. One thing that was different is that they did not take everyone take off their shoes. Only some people had to (myself included). Those who did had to wait to have their shoes go through the x-ray machine.

Other than dealing with 15 or so kids under the age of 5 on the plane from Frankfurt to Chicago, our flights were uneventful.
After a very long 24 hours or so, we were all very tired when we arrived on time in Minneapolis.
